DJ Keytronikz (or Keytronikz) is a hip-hop record producer, disc jockey, and music engineer hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina. Keytronikz was born Keyon Tahji-Qasim Spearman on January 29, 1997, in Clinton, North Carolina. Spearman was diagnosed with high-functioning autism at the age of 2. From a young age, Spearman developed a strong passion for music, having observed his father carrying numerous vinyl records in his crib.

Spearman primarily listens to hip-hop and rap, although he was exposed to a diverse range of music genres during his upbringing, including R&B, soul, funk, electro, pop, gospel, reggae, Latin, world, and rock. At the age of ten, Spearman taught himself how to play the piano after his parents purchased a keyboard for him. He honed his skills by practicing songs he had heard throughout his childhood, and his parents were pleasantly surprised by his exceptional talent.

Spearman draws inspiration from his formative years, during which he immersed himself in the sounds of 2000s East Coast hip-hop. His musical influences include artists and production teams like Roc-A-Fella (Just Blaze, Kanye West, and Bink!), Dipset/Heatmakerz, G-Unit, LOX, Alchemist, and the profound impact of albums like Ghostface Killah's "Supreme Clientele." Additionally, he looks up to producers such as Hi-Tek, as well as his local heroes 9th Wonder and Khrysis. Spearman originally operated under the moniker "DJ Keynote Speakaz," but in 2019, inspired by his father, he transitioned to the stage name "DJ Keytronikz." This name was derived from a computer mouse he owned, coupled with a tribute to the iconic hip-hop group Mantronix.

Keytronikz subsequently became involved in producing music for various artists in the industry. He recently collaborated with Montreal, Canada MC Bamboo Twiggz, releasing the vinyl-exclusive project "Understanding Righteous." Keytronikz also teamed up with Pasco MC Roque the KickItMastah, dropping the full-length album "From 509 to 919: The Trinity," with another upcoming project slated for release.
